Your own court, built to play on.
A backyard basketball court is a paving job that has to be done right. Sub-base prep matters even more than on a driveway — an uneven surface means bad bounces, ponding water, and cracking after the first winter. We excavate, grade, base, and pave to a true, flat finish, then come back to stripe the court.
Whether you want regulation half-court lines, a full-court layout, or a custom design for the family, we’ll work out the dimensions, pour a smooth asphalt surface, and paint the lines crisp.
We build backyard basketball courts and private asphalt play surfaces throughout Plymouth, Bridgewater, Middleborough, Carver, Kingston, Plympton, and the South Shore. If you have the space, we can help turn it into a durable court that drains, plays well, and looks finished.
Get a Court Estimate
A better court starts before the asphalt goes down.
Backyard court paving is different from a standard driveway. The surface needs to be smooth enough for consistent ball bounce, pitched enough to move water, and strong enough to stay stable through New England winters. A court that looks flat but drains poorly will quickly become frustrating to play on.
We help plan the layout, goal placement, court dimensions, drainage direction, and finished striping before work starts. That keeps the court usable for pickup games, family practice, driveway sports, and everyday use without guessing after the paving is done.
Layout
We measure the available space and help determine whether a half court, shooting area, or custom layout makes the most sense.
Base and pitch
The court is excavated, based, compacted, and graded to balance playability with drainage.
Striping
After the asphalt cures, we can add regulation-style or custom court lines for a finished playing surface.
From the dig-out to the last line.
Site prep & layout
We measure the available space, mark the court dimensions, and coordinate with you on goal placement and any custom features.
Sub-base & grading
Excavation, compacted sub-base, and a true flat grade with the right pitch for drainage. This is the step you can’t shortcut.
Asphalt paving
Hot-mix asphalt rolled to a smooth, even playing surface. Tight edges, no slumps.
Court striping
Regulation half-court or full-court lines, 3-point arc, free-throw lane, and custom designs — painted crisp once the asphalt has cured.
Private courts, practice areas, and multi-use asphalt pads.
Some customers want a dedicated basketball court. Others want a smooth, multi-use asphalt pad for shooting hoops, scooters, pickleball practice, parking overflow, or family recreation. We can shape the project around the space, budget, and way the surface will be used.
The right scope depends on access, tree cover, drainage, soil conditions, and the finish you want. During the estimate, we walk the area, talk through dimensions and expectations, and explain what has to happen below the surface to keep the court performing well.
